Growing Savings Slowly by Recycling Bottles and Saving Loose Change

by Sammy
(New York)

I save every bottle that I can recycle and return them to a recycling center. I turn in the money slips for cash and add it to my coin jar. At the end of the month, I use coin wrappers and deposit my coins into my savings account. After a few weeks the money adds up. It makes me feel good that I am saving what I can from my pay check plus the coins I get from recycling.

Also if I have a couple dollars left over from my previous pay check, I will deposit them and start fresh for the next week. I love finding loose change on the sidewalk to add to my collection. It may not be much, but at least I am slowly growing my savings.
